Authorities are urgently searching for an 11-year-old girl after the Texas Department of Public Safety activated an Amber Alert Thursday evening for a missing child out of Grand Prairie.
The girl has been identified as Mila Castanon, who was last seen around 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning in the 500 block of NW 13th Street in Grand Prairie. Several hours passed before the statewide alert was issued, raising concerns about her whereabouts.
Castanon is described as a white female standing 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 110 pounds with black hair and black eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and yellow pants.
Law enforcement officials have stated they believe Castanon may be facing grave or immediate danger, which prompted the issuance of the Amber Alert to notify residents across the state.
Grand Prairie Police are leading the investigation and are asking anyone who may have seen Castanon or has any information about her location to call 911 immediately or reach the Grand Prairie Police Department directly at 972-237-8790.
