A juvenile student formerly enrolled in Celina Independent School District has been taken into custody following a criminal investigation that uncovered child pornography and illegal recordings made inside a school locker room, Celina police announced.

Investigators say the student allegedly obtained pornographic images of minors through online sources. During the course of the investigation detectives also uncovered four additional images that the student had secretly captured inside a locker room at Celina High School during the current 2025 to 2026 school year.

The locker room recordings involved a total of six students and led to six separate counts of Invasive Visual Recording which is classified as a state jail felony under Texas law.

Celina ISD issued a statement confirming the district fully cooperated with law enforcement throughout the investigation. School officials said they assisted detectives as needed and fulfilled all mandatory reporting obligations tied to the incident.

Authorities stated that their investigation found no evidence implicating any other individuals in the criminal activity. That determination specifically cleared all current and former Celina ISD staff members from any involvement.

The Criminal Investigation Division of the Celina Police Department has already reached out to the parents or guardians of every student identified as being affected by the illegal recordings. Because the suspect is a juvenile their identity has not been publicly released in accordance with Texas law governing juvenile offenders.

The case highlights ongoing concerns about student privacy and digital safety within school environments as law enforcement agencies across North Texas continue to address crimes involving the exploitation of minors.
