A Dallas mother is desperately pleading for her 13-year-old daughter to come home after the teenager vanished Wednesday night, leaving behind her phone, money and all electronics.
Natalie Armstrong was last seen around 10:08 p.m. on October 21 near the 9300 block of Whistle Stop Place in Dallas. Her mother, Megan Bernhardt, believes Natalie may have boarded a DART bus and ended up in an unfamiliar part of the metroplex.
The family has since shifted its search efforts to the Grapevine area following multiple reported sightings there. Bernhardt said Natalie is autistic and had been dealing with anxiety connected to school in the days before she disappeared.
What makes the situation especially alarming for her mother is the complete silence since Natalie left. “She knows my phone number. She does, so it’s alarming that she hasn’t reached out” Bernhardt said.
Natalie is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall and approximately 135 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans and white shoes. Her mother noted the shoes may be the most recognizable detail for anyone who spots her.
Bernhardt also offered an important tip for parents in the area. She said Natalie may feel more comfortable approaching someone her own age rather than an adult and urged parents to ask their own teenagers if they have seen or spoken with the missing girl.
The Dallas Police Department has issued an appeal for public assistance in locating Natalie. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or contact Dallas Police directly at 214-671-4268 referencing case number 155505-2026.
In an emotional message directed at her daughter Bernhardt said “Natalie we’re so worried and we love you so much. We just want you to come home and we want everything to be okay. You’re not in trouble. We just need you to come home.”
