Taylor Farms, headquartered in Dallas, has issued a recall on its 13.4-ounce H-E-B Backyard BBQ Chop Salad Kit after discovering the product may contain undeclared soy and tree nuts including almonds. The presence of these undisclosed allergens poses a potentially serious health risk to consumers with allergies or sensitivities to those ingredients.
The recalled salad kits were distributed exclusively to H-E-B grocery stores across Texas. Affected packages carry a Best By date of October 30, 2026 and a Universal Product Code of 041220300457.
As of now no allergic reactions or adverse health incidents linked to the product have been reported. Health officials and the company are urging consumers to act quickly regardless of symptoms.
Shoppers who purchased the kit are advised to discard it immediately or return it to their nearest H-E-B location for a full refund. The product is sold in plastic bag packaging.
Consumers with questions or concerns can reach Taylor Farms directly by calling 855-455-0098. Representatives are available Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Central Standard Time.
This is not the first recall involving Taylor Farms products in recent months. Earlier this year the company recalled a range of prepared food items containing jalapeños due to potential salmonella contamination. Those products had been distributed across 20 states and were available at several major national retailers.
Undeclared allergens are among the most common causes of food recalls in the United States. Soy and tree nuts like almonds are classified as major food allergens under federal law and must be clearly disclosed on product labels to protect consumers with life-threatening sensitivities.
