A 23-year-old man is facing serious felony charges after three people were shot in Dallas’s popular Deep Ellum entertainment district in the early hours of Sunday morning, authorities confirmed.
Dallas Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 2900 block of Elm Street at approximately 1:02 a.m. The call brought emergency personnel rushing to one of the city’s most frequented nightlife areas.
Upon arrival, officers discovered three shooting victims at the scene. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported all three individuals to a nearby hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.
Investigators worked to identify the shooter in the hours following the incident. Authorities arrested Demond Hardy of Dallas and booked him on four counts of Aggravated Assault Discharge of a Firearm, a first-degree felony under Texas law.
