A tense standoff in a downtown Dallas parking garage concluded Monday when a man involved in the incident died from a self-inflicted gunshot, according to a police report.
The situation began around 3:45 p.m. in the 1600 block of Commerce Street, near the Neiman Marcus flagship store, when officers responded to assist with an ongoing law enforcement operation.
Authorities said the suspect had barricaded himself inside a vehicle, prompting police to establish a secure perimeter and advise nearby residents and commuters to stay clear of the area.
Officials confirmed that no bystanders or police officers were injured during the hours-long standoff. Details about the suspect’s prior charges have not been released.
