Fatal Shooting on Forest Lane Linked to Concealed Narcotics inside Bibles

A violent incident occurred late Saturday morning in North Dallas, where a man was discovered dead from a gunshot wound in the 8000 block of Forest Lane. While local authorities are currently investigating the homicide, the location has recently been under scrutiny following a separate case involving Henna Havila Martinez.

Martinez was sentenced to six years in prison on April 9, 2026, for using the mail to smuggle synthetic cannabinoids into a correctional facility. Her method involved soaking the pages of leather-bound Bibles and other documents in illegal chemicals to bypass security. Although no arrests have been made in the recent shooting, police are working to determine if there is any connection between the local criminal activity and the ongoing investigation into the victim’s identity.
