A cold front that swept through North Texas on Saturday is bringing noticeably cooler and unsettled weather to the Dallas–Fort Worth area this week, with scattered showers and thunderstorm chances expected on multiple days.
As of Sunday morning, April 19, temperatures across the metroplex are sitting in the mid-50s — a sharp drop from the warmth earlier in the week. Skies are clearing following Saturday’s storm activity, but forecasters warn that the pattern remains active through at least Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service Fort Worth office, a cold Canadian airmass settled into the region Saturday after a line of storms pushed through, bringing hail and gusty wind threats to parts of North and Central Texas. The system is now moving east, leaving behind cooler and drier air for Sunday.
The workweek outlook, however, calls for a return of rain chances starting Tuesday. Highs will remain in the upper 60s to low 70s Monday and Tuesday before a gradual warming trend pushes temperatures back toward the upper 70s by Thursday. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible each day from Tuesday through the end of the week.
