18-Year-Old Killed in Possible Road Rage Shooting on Fort Worth Avenue in Dallas; Suspect Arrested

An 18-year-old man was shot and killed in a possible road rage incident on Fort Worth Avenue in Dallas Monday night, and a 37-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged with murder, according to the Dallas Police Department and the Dallas Morning News.

Officers responded at approximately 10:10 p.m. on April 28 to a shooting call in the 2800 block of Fort Worth Avenue in West Dallas. When Dallas Fire-Rescue arrived, they pronounced 18-year-old Ernest Rodriguez dead at the scene from a gunshot wound.

Investigators identified 37-year-old Relby Esquivel as the shooter. The Dallas Morning News reported the incident is being investigated as a possible road rage confrontation. Officers located Esquivel after the shooting and took him into custody. He is currently booked in the Dallas County Jail and charged with murder. No additional details about the exact sequence of events or the motive behind the confrontation have been officially released. The investigation is ongoing.
