Woman Shot While Driving Strikes Pedestrian in Dallas, Both Hospitalized

A chaotic scene unfolded on West Virginia Drive in Dallas Tuesday night after a woman who had been shot lost control of her vehicle and struck a pedestrian, leaving two people hospitalized.

Dallas police responded to the area around 8:30 p.m. and initially discovered a person who had been hit by a car. Officers later located the driver of the vehicle and determined she had suffered a gunshot wound.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and investigators have not yet established what triggered either incident or whether the two events were directly connected beyond the crash itself.

The injured woman who was behind the wheel was transported to a local hospital and listed in critical condition as of 10 p.m. The pedestrian she struck was also taken to the hospital but is reported to be in stable condition.

As of late Tuesday evening no arrests had been made in connection with the shooting. Investigators are working to determine who fired the weapon and what sequence of events led to the collision on West Virginia Drive.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
