A person was rescued from a burning apartment building in Arlington Wednesday morning after flames broke out on the second floor of a residential complex, prompting a multi-unit emergency response.
The Arlington Fire Department was dispatched to the 2100 block of Parks Springs Circle at approximately 8:45 a.m. following a wave of emergency calls from the area. Upon arrival, crews observed visible smoke and flames actively consuming the upper level of a two-story apartment structure and immediately escalated the response to a second alarm.
Firefighters located a trapped resident on a second-floor balcony and carried out a rescue before the fire could cut off escape routes entirely. The individual was transported to a nearby hospital and their current medical condition has not been released.
The Pantego Fire Department also deployed units to assist Arlington crews at the scene. No firefighters sustained injuries during the operation.
Residents displaced by the fire received assistance from the American Red Cross which responded to the scene to provide support and resources to those affected. The full extent of property damage to the building has not been publicly disclosed.
Fire investigators are working to determine what sparked the blaze and no cause has been officially announced.
