Dallas Police are turning to the public for assistance in identifying a suspect connected to a homicide investigation following the death of a 25-year-old man earlier this summer.
Joshua Hardaman III was shot on June 3 during a confrontation in a parking lot located in the 3500 block of Lancaster Road. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries approximately three weeks later on June 23.
Investigators have released footage from two separate video recordings in hopes that someone will recognize the unidentified suspect. The first clip captures the moments leading up to the shooting and shows Hardaman in conversation with an unknown man wearing a hooded jacket.
The two men appear to exchange something before the encounter turns violent. During the altercation the unidentified man falls backward and Hardaman is subsequently shot. The suspect is then seen scrambling to his feet and fleeing the parking lot on foot.
A second video recorded by a residential security camera shows the same man running along the sidewalk on Lea Crest Drive shortly after the shooting. Police believe both clips show the same individual responsible for Hardaman’s death.
Portions of the first video have been redacted with a black box to obscure graphic content. Despite the edits investigators believe the footage contains enough identifying details to help the public recognize the suspect.
