North Texas has one of its most packed weekends of the year ahead, with two major outdoor festivals running simultaneously, a full slate of Texas Rangers home games, and a strong concert lineup spread across Dallas and Fort Worth.
Lone Star Smokeout — AT&T Stadium, Arlington (April 24–26)
The biggest event of the weekend is the second annual Lone Star Smokeout, taking over the grounds outside AT&T Stadium in Arlington with three days of country music and world-class barbecue. Friday headliner Shaboozey — a five-time Grammy nominee — opens the festival alongside Max McNown, Waylon Wyatt, and Tyler Nance. Saturday belongs to multi-platinum Texas native Koe Wetzel, joined by fan favorite Casey Donahew, Ghost Hounds, Maddox Batson, Solon Holt, and Jenna Davis. Sunday closes out with CMA and Academy of Country Music Award winner Riley Green alongside Sam Barber, Avery Anna, Wade Forster, and a special acoustic set from Ray Johnston.
Beyond the music, 15 acclaimed pitmaster teams from across Texas and the country will be firing up smokers throughout the weekend — including James Beard Award nominees, Michelin-recommended smokehouses, and Texas Monthly Top 50 selections. Hurtado Barbecue, Panther City BBQ, Salt Lick BBQ, and 2M Smokehouse are among the names confirmed. Live fire cooking demonstrations, shopping vendors, and interactive experiences round out the event. Tickets start at $126 for a three-day pass at lonestarsmokeout.com.
Ubbi Dubbi Festival — Panther Island Pavilion, Fort Worth (April 24–25)
Running simultaneously just across the metroplex, the seventh edition of Ubbi Dubbi Festival transforms Panther Island Pavilion along the Trinity River into an underwater-themed electronic music experience under the banner “Into the Abyss.” The two-day festival features Kx5 — the combined project of Deadmau5 and Kaskade — alongside Zedd, Alesso performing a special sunset set, Ganja White Night, San Holo, Kai Wachi, HoneyLuv, TroyBoi, Space Laces, Blanke, Wilkinson, and dozens more across two stages. The Ubbi stage focuses on house and techno, while the Dubbi stage delivers dubstep and bass music. Bioluminescent reef installations, projection-mapped ocean visuals, and LED bubble tunnels are part of the production design. Gates open at 3 p.m. both days. Tickets and information at ubbidubbifestival.com.
Texas Rangers — Globe Life Field, Arlington
The Rangers are in the middle of a home stand at Globe Life Field all weekend. After completing their series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday, they host the Athletics for three straight games — Friday at 7:05 p.m., Saturday at 6:05 p.m., and Sunday at 1:35 p.m. Friday April 24 is also City Connect Night at the ballpark, with special themed merchandise and promotions. Tickets available at texasrangers.com.
FC Dallas — Toyota Stadium, Frisco
FC Dallas hits the road this weekend, traveling to face the Seattle Sounders on Saturday night at 9:30 p.m. CDT. Fans can watch the away match on broadcast. The team returns to Toyota Stadium in Frisco for their next home game in May.
Concerts Around DFW
For those looking for a smaller venue experience, the weekend also brings a strong concert lineup. On Friday, Mt. Joy plays the Longhorn Backyard Amphitheater and La Arrolladora Banda El Limón takes the stage at the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory, both at 8 p.m. On Saturday, LANY performs at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth at 7:30 p.m. and the Dallas Blues Festival brings its annual showcase to Texas Trust CU Theatre in Grand Prairie starting at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Italian classical crossover trio Il Volo performs at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas at 8 p.m.
With two major festivals, a Rangers homestand, and live music across multiple venues, this weekend ranks as one of the most active in the DFW spring calendar.
