A Friday evening shooting at a Starbucks in Allen left one person dead and another hospitalized, with investigators pointing to a domestic violence incident as the likely cause.
Allen police responded to the coffee shop located at 969 State Highway 121 at approximately 6 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire on the premises. Officers arrived to find two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds sustained during a physical altercation.
Both victims were transported by emergency personnel to area hospitals for treatment. One of the two individuals was later pronounced dead, while the condition of the second person has not been publicly confirmed by authorities.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute between the two parties involved rather than a random act of violence. The incident appears to have been isolated to those two individuals with no indication of a broader threat to the public.
