A Georgia teenager has been charged with murder after the dismembered remains of a local DoorDash delivery driver were discovered stuffed inside garbage bags in the trunk of a car at a Smyrna apartment complex.
The victim has been identified as Shanteria Mosley, known to loved ones as “KT.” Her body was found at Park Valley Apartments after police responded to a missing person report earlier in the week.
Smyrna Police Lt. Meredith Holt described the discovery as one of the most disturbing cases she has encountered in 25 years of law enforcement. “This is a shocking crime. I have been a part of multiple homicide cases and this is a particularly gruesome crime” Holt said at a Friday press conference.
Authorities waited for Cobb County medical examiner officials to arrive before opening the bags to confirm they contained human remains. One of the bags was described in a police news release as being pulled tightly enough to show the outline of a body part.
Kingston Bradley, an 18-year-old Smyrna resident, has been arrested and charged with malice murder and concealing the death of another person in connection with Mosley’s killing. Police confirmed that Bradley lives with his father at the same Park Valley Apartments complex where the body was found.
Investigators have not yet confirmed whether Bradley and Mosley had a prior relationship. Lt. Holt noted that Mosley was not working as a DoorDash driver on the day she was killed and said authorities are continuing to piece together how the two individuals were connected.
DoorDash has not yet issued a public statement regarding the death of one of its drivers. Mosley’s family has also not yet spoken publicly about the case.
The Smyrna Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mosley’s death as the case moves forward with formal murder charges now filed against Bradley.
