A Grand Prairie ISD social studies teacher with nearly a decade of experience in the district has been taken into custody following a criminal investigation by Duncanville police into allegations of sexual assault involving a child.
James Robinson, who taught social studies at Grand Prairie High School for eight years, was arrested on a charge of Sexual Assault of a Child by a Prohibited Person, which is classified as a first-degree felony under Texas law. Duncanville police confirmed the arrest took place on Friday August 7 2026.
Authorities stated the arrest came as the result of an ongoing criminal investigation but did not disclose how long detectives had been building the case or when the initial report was filed.
