A fatal early-morning crash brought traffic to a standstill on Interstate 20 at Spur 408 in Dallas on Monday after two vehicles collided in the pre-dawn hours.
Dallas Fire-Rescue units responded to the scene shortly after 3:00 a.m. and found two vehicles involved in the wreck. One person was pronounced dead at the scene while a second individual sustained injuries.
Authorities have not yet released details identifying which vehicle each victim was traveling in at the time of the collision. The names of those involved have not been made public.
The stretch of I-20 near Spur 408 was shut down following the crash to allow emergency crews and investigators to work the scene. Drivers in the area were urged to seek alternate routes during the closure.
