A vehicle crashed into a North Dallas auto repair shop in the early morning hours, causing significant structural damage and leaving behind a twisted guardrail and a scorched building exterior. Surveillance footage captured the violent impact, which occurred around 2 a.m. at Wayne Motors.
Dallas police said the car came off Dickerson Drive before plunging into the body shop. According to investigators, no injuries were reported in connection with the crash.
Surveillance cameras recorded three individuals from a second vehicle pulling the driver from the wreckage before all four fled the scene ahead of police arrival. Officers have not announced any arrests related to the incident.
Shop owner Jason Wright said he was stunned when he arrived and saw the destruction firsthand. He described physical evidence at the scene suggesting the car had spun before coming to rest with its tires pressed against the wall.
Wright noted the area has seen speeding vehicles and previous accidents, but said nothing had ever come close to this level of destruction. He spent much of the day cleaning up the damage left behind.
Despite the severity of the crash, Wright acknowledged the situation could have been far more catastrophic. He expressed concern that the impact could have sparked a fire inside the building, potentially destroying customer vehicles stored there.
Dallas police confirmed the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
