Flower Mound police are investigating after three people were discovered dead inside a residential home Wednesday morning, following a welfare check requested by concerned family members.
Officers responded to a home on Sunrise Circle shortly before 11 a.m. after relatives reported that two people who lived there had failed to show up for work and were not answering calls or messages.
When police entered the residence they found three individuals deceased inside. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims.
Flower Mound police Deputy Chief Henry Lucio confirmed that the victims are believed to be related to one another and that gunshots appear to have played a role in their deaths. Lucio emphasized that investigators are still in the early stages of gathering evidence and piecing together what happened.
Lucio told reporters that there is no current threat to the surrounding community and that authorities believe the incident was isolated in nature. He said detectives will follow every lead as the investigation moves forward.
Crime scene investigators remained at the property for nearly 12 hours after the initial call was made working to collect and process physical evidence from the scene.
Police have not yet disclosed the circumstances surrounding the shooting or whether any suspects have been identified. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
Flower Mound police are urging anyone who may have information relevant to the case including residents with nearby surveillance footage to come forward and contact the department directly.
