A shooting in the parking lot of a Lewisville restaurant left two men wounded Sunday evening after a confrontation between two groups escalated into gunfire, according to local police.
The incident occurred along the 1200 block of South State Highway 121, where witnesses say a dispute broke out between two groups in the parking area outside the establishment. The situation turned violent when one individual opened fire into the crowd.
Both men struck by gunfire sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening and are expected to make full recoveries, Lewisville police confirmed.
The shooter fled the area before officers arrived on scene. Authorities stated that while the suspect remains at large, there is currently no known threat to the general public.
Lewisville police are actively working to identify and locate the individual responsible for the shooting. Investigators have begun reviewing security camera footage from surrounding businesses in hopes of gathering additional evidence and identifying those involved.
No arrests have been announced at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
