Man Found Fatally Shot in South Dallas; Suspect Remains at Large

Dallas police are investigating a fatal shooting in South Dallas that left one person dead in the early morning hours of Friday, April 17, 2026.

Officers responded to a call in the 1800 block of Park Row Avenue at approximately 2:19 a.m. and found a victim lying in the street with a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the individual to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Investigators believe the shooting followed a dispute between the victim and a suspect who was known to them, according to police. The suspect remains at large.

Dallas police confirmed the victim was a man who presented as female at the time of the incident. As of Saturday, April 18, the victim’s identity had not been publicly released pending assistance from the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is documented under case number 054325-2026 and remains ongoing.
