A fatal single-vehicle crash claimed one life late Thursday night along North Walton Walker Boulevard in Dallas after a driver lost control and was ejected from the vehicle.
Dallas Police received the emergency call just before midnight and arrived to find a white sedan overturned near the intersection of North Walton Walker Boulevard and Singleton Road. Investigators say the vehicle was traveling southbound when it veered off the roadway, crossed a shoulder and grass median, and slammed into an unoccupied parked car before flipping onto its roof.
The driver of the white sedan was ejected during the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not yet released the identity of the victim and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Much of the violent sequence was recorded by surveillance cameras belonging to a nearby auto glass shop. Business owner Vengely Rodriguez arrived to open his shop the following morning only to discover the aftermath of the deadly wreck directly outside.
Rodriguez told NBC 5 that he and his staff saw a grieving family at the scene when they arrived and quickly realized the severity of what had occurred overnight. He described finding shattered glass and widespread damage across the area in front of his business.
Rodriguez said he was shaken by what the surveillance footage captured but acknowledged the situation could have been far worse had the crash occurred during business hours. He expressed relief that no employees or bystanders were injured and offered his condolences to the victim’s family.
Police tape remained stretched across the front of the auto glass shop for several hours after the crash as officers continued processing the scene. No other vehicles or pedestrians were struck during the incident beyond the parked car that was hit by the out-of-control sedan.
Authorities have not indicated whether speed, impairment, or mechanical failure played a role in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
